I have a vague recollection of a thread about cow mutilation that got weird, too.
It’s been a while, and I may be confusing screennames with the names they used on the Fathom board back when I was modding there. But I can’t help recalling Johnsbury and DrWatson.

Really, among recent history, no one was as worst as pedophile-defending, “women were ok with sexual harrassment in the 1960’s, so the rise in sexual harrassment complaints lies with today’s women, who just aren’t built the way they’re supposed to be” Sharting Fartist, a poster so despicable I argued that, viewing this Board as a business, the SDMB couldn’t afford to keep him around.

Back during my first stint as a moderator, there was a repeat sock puppet who would just not give up. Like, it once registered 26 names in a row, one for every letter of the alphabet, as quickly as the board would let it. I don’t think that any of its names lasted long enough for non-moderators (who wouldn’t have known it was all the same person) to remember it, though.
You mean that fucked-in-the-head Mastermind? He was warned to keep all that shit confined to one thread.
It’s a real shame that the imgur link to his “proof” doesn’t work anymore, it was total genius and I have total respect to him for putting it up there.
I got over it when he came crying to the Giraffe Boards and I was a mod there. 
But really, I did not get involved in any moderator discussions nor was I who put him in The Box. His trolling was noticed with no input from me, and for me the best revenge is when others do notice right away what a jerkoff he was/is.

I never minded asahi that much before. My opinion of him has plummeted with his participation in the recent thread whereupon poster Huey Freeman was pitted. He’s a prolific, vapid nuisance who will take vile, beyond the pale stances just for attention.

Scylla is the Dan Simmons of the SDMB. We read his old stuff with love and affection and kinda ignore what’s happening now.
