Who was your favorite "Electric Company" character?

That is one of the first jokes I ever remember retelling and I knew it was from Electric Company or Zoom Zoom.

Thanks so much for the link!

Where I work I often have to call the plumbers and they will come find me as the contact. When told “the plumber is here” it is everything in my power to not ask “are they here to fix the sink?”

Sometimes folks laugh, and then I sigh,
‘Cause it’s so hard to tell the reasons why
I’m in love. I’m in love with a giant.

I don’t suppose you enjoyed Horton Hatches the Egg as a child, then?

My favorite was Mister Know-It-All. Not a recurring character, but great for that one sketch.

What about it?

I’d have to say Easy Reader and Letterman.

Frank the Crank (was he buddies with Oscar the Grouch?)

Irene Cara…one of the kids which comprised the Short Circus.

here’s the opening credits:

I had the hots for Jennifer of the Jungle.

I loved Maurice the talking plant, personally. Like a cut-rate Audrey II.

I was inordinately afraid of and at the same time rather fond of the trio of monsters…the Morgan Freeman Dracula, the Jim Boyd Wolfman, and the Skip Hinnant Frankenstein.

Skip Hinnant, who also played the “Love of Chair” boy, was the voice of the decidedly NON-child-appropriate Fritz the Cat.

Fargo North, Decoder, without a doubt.

I constantly amazed at the number of people my age who, when I mention Electric Company, have no idea what I’m talking about. They all remember Sesame Street, but not EC.

You mean J. Arthur Crank? (Who was nothing more than an unseen and unheard character on the other end of the phone in the first season or so, then played by Jim Boyd)

I still remember the tune to “Spaghetti With a Spoon”…can’t remember all the words, though.

Do you mean J. Arthur Crank?

Back then, who didn’t?
