Do the SDopers know who were the cast members of “The Electric Company”? Bill Cosby is, perhaps, most remembered. But, what about the others? - Jinx
My favorite was Morgan Freeman.
Here. This might help.
The other seriously famous cast member other than those already mentioned was Rita Moreno.
The IMDB page has a good cast list. Note that future-pop-star Irene Cara was a member of the Short Circus, the in-house kids’ singing group. Also, in the voice-work category, Joan Rivers narrated the Letterman segments, with Gene Wilder voicing Letterman himself and Zero Mostel voicing the Spellbinder. Mel Brooks had a few voice parts as well, and Tom Lehrer wrote many of the songs they used, and sang some, too.
Curses! JThunder, you’re faster than a silent “e”!
Oh! Also, my favorite bit of Electric Company trivia…Skip Hinnant, who played JJ, Fargo North Decoder, and the guy from “Love of Chair”, later did the voice of Fritz the Cat, who was most decidedly NOT your average innocent kitten…
Actually he’s faster than a rolling “o.” He may also be stronger than a silent “e” and able to leap capital “T” in a single bound, but for those I’d need a cite.
Damn. It’s been too long…I may need to go order the dvd set…
This thread won’t be complete without a “HEY YOU GUYS!”
Ooh! There are DVDs!!
One of my favorite things was Spiderman. And he would throw a net on the bad guys!

…and, what about Naomi?
Private property? No! Fishing allowed.

I just wanted to note that revisiting this subject made it so I couldn’t stand it anymore. I just spent $50 on that “Best of” collection. It’s been sitting in my “neatstuff” favorites folder for two weeks now as I resisted and resisted. But it was too much for me tonight.
I even got the 2-day delivery.
I need a support group…
No, but you need to invite us over! I’ll make pizza!
I was in high school when this was on – we found out everybody was secretly watching it the day after the Boy in Chair stood up.
It’s the plumber! I came to fix the pipes!
Hehe!
*knock-knock
Parrot: Whooo is it?
Plumber: It’s da plumbah. I come to fix da sink.
Parrot: Whooo is it?
Plumber: It’s da PLUMBAH. I come to FIX da SINK.
Parrot: Whooo is it?
Plumber: IT’S DA PLUMBAH. I COME TO FIX DA SINK.
Parrot: Whooo is it?
Plumber: IT’S. DA. PLUMBAH! I. COME. TO…urk! (falls down dead)
(woman comes home, sees dead plumber)
Woman: Who is it?
Parrot: It’s the plumber. He’s come to fix the sink.*
Yeah. That’s what I was going to ask.
I have the first two DVDs, courtesy of Netflix.
The first one covers the first season. All the shows aren’t on there, just representative ones.
I did, however, have a good laugh at Morgan Freeman in the Easy Reader getup.
