Who watches CBS?

Sometime in the past year, CBS became the network I watch the most.

Between Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Criminal Minds, almost all of my favorite shows are on CBS. And CBS has Craig Ferguson and The Price is Right too. And my local CBS affiliate carries Jeopardy. These are all good shows, so why someone would get their panties in a bunch over people deciding to watch good TV just floors me.

So in summary, dude, get a life. If you’re not watching anything on CBS you’ve obviously got shit taste in TV.

CSI is/was one of the highest rated shows
I’m pretty much Big Bang Theory / How I Met Your Mother and an occasional 60 minutes.

Brian

CSI, Mentalist and Letterman. CSI is in Miami. New York, and Vegas. Soon to do Detroit, Davenport and Kalamazoo.

Because in the realm of reality shows, it’s the lowest of the low. Why are the people kicked off the show? Is it for losing a competition or a game? The whole show is pointless (even moreso than other reality shows). The whole concept is just, IMO, excruciatingly boring.

Please pardon my laughing, but I just had someone who watches Survivor and The Amazing Race say I have shit taste in television. :smack:

You know, CBS does show stuff other than reality shows. They have some fairly good sitcoms (How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men) and crime procedural dramas (CSI, The Mentalist, etc.).

And while I’ve never watched it, The Amazing Race is supposed to be a fairly good reality show.

De gustibus non est disputandum and all that.

Someone mocking The Amazing Race as “shit” has obviously never watched it. And while Survivor isn’t high brow, it is entertaining, which is what I want most from my TV.

it is the Tiffany Network

Survivor, The Amazing Race, NCIS, Cold Case, The Mentalist.

It’s also my local news station of choice.

I watch CSI and Big Bang Theory. CBS has been half-dead to me since they canceled Joan of Arcadia.

ABC, for canceling Pushing Daisies, is all the way dead to me.

You have not in any way backed up your claim that BB is “the lowest of the low” for reality shows. It’s the only one that I personally find intellectually nourishing, but even then I’m not throwing shit at the people who enjoy the other shows.

Are you asking how people get kicked off the show because you think it is a bad process or because you don’t know? They are evicted through a multi-stepped process that constitutes a week long power struggle. Basically competitions decides who has the power and the rest is social maneuvering. I’m not claiming it is the best thing ever, but the lowest of the low? In a genre that includes stuff like Flava Flav and all that super trashy stuff? I just don’t know where you’re coming from.

I’m just going to assume that you are trying to be a jerk until you can offer like…you know…reasons.

CBS has been the best network in total English speaking viewers for most of the decade - 8 out of the nine past years.

But, Fox has repeatedly beat them in the coveted 18-49 demo that advertisers care the most about.

Who watches CBS?

Old folks.

It has won only seven Emmy awards. Wait a few years and they might get the format figured out.

In the age of the DVR, who cares what network a show is on?

CBS has had the biggest share of top rated programs for the past decade, before the advent of American Idol that is.

The top rated hour long, CSI.

The top rated sitcom, 2 1/2 Men.

The new top rated hour long, The Medium.

The new top rated sitcom, Big Bang Theory.

CBS is still currently the dominant network, though their future profitability is in jeopardy because Fox and CW clean their clock with the 18 to 30 demos.

You do apparently. Where else would you see a commercial for Big Brother?

Ditto. The Unit was under my radar until a friend mentioned the second season premier. I watched every episode and re-run until CBS killed it. The writing was excellent. Dammit.

I currently watch Criminal Minds and Craig Ferguson (but not usually Letterman). I’m thinking of giving NCIS:LA a shot because it’s got Bob from The Unit and because I wanna see LL Cool J be a goofy cop.

Although I don’t think it will last more than one season.

Cold Case is probably the only thing I watch on network TV anymore.

I watch absolutely NO TV 'cept for the Amazing Race. And Big Brother. Hey, I’ve gotta have some sort of guilty pleasure. Oh, and maybe once in a while I’ll watch whatever French/Spanish/Dutch/German show they deign to play on cable.

…so for all intents and purposes, I only watch CBS.

Nah, I’m 52 and I watch CBS.

What?

That’s exactly what I was going to say. Apparently, CBS has been trying to get rid of its label as “the network that old people watch” for years. They haven’t.
