I was flipping through a Travel Smith catalog and noticed some clothes that are reversible. Like black on one side and some print on the other. These clothes are intended to be worn on either side, unlike regular clothes that look a bit strange or out of place worn inside out. I was wondering: Does anyone here wear reversible clothing? Looks like a good idea for light packing.
I have a reversible suit-type jacket and also a couple of reversible vests. They’re patterned on both sides but in different color schemes. I wear them quite often. It’s like having two vests in one.
In high school I had a reversible homecoming dress. The thought behind this, of course, was that if another girl was wearing the same dress, you could go to the ladies room reverse it, and have an entirely different dress. Of course, if a third girl was wearing the dress, I guess you’d be screwed.
I just bought a reversible skirt and top at Kohl’s and I love it. I took it to a conference recently and appreciated the fact that I got two outfits in the space intended for one. What is not to love?
I realized last night that my underwear was on backwards. Does that count?
I’m not sure this counts per se, but I’ve got an awesome reversible belt I bought a few months back. One side is black leather, the other brown. The buckle pops out and swivels around, making it possible to use either side. It’s probably the coolest thing I own. Two belts in one!
Also, I used to have all sorts of reversible clothes as a kid – shirts, jackets, hats, etc. Now if they could make a reversible garment that would go twice as long before you had to wash it, that would be awesome!
I remember reversible stuff was all the rage when I was in elementary school. Especially popular was the reversible rain slicker.
This was back in the early 80s.
Once I was frustrated by not being able to put my pen in my shirt pocket…there were a number of ink lines down the left side of my chest…and assorted giggles in an otherwise resectful first period biology class. At the end of the period, a sweet and kind girl came up and asked me why I had my shirt on inside out.
But maybe that’s not what you had in mind???
