Who Wears Turbans?

I was under the impression that sikhs differ from turban-wearing muslims because sikhs are required to wear turbans whereas muslims are not?

Getting back to the OP, Hazel said:

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would think like this. Most people you see wearing turbans (in western countries) will be sikhs. Sikhs have no connection whatsoever to al qaeda or muslim fanatisists.

They can’t be “Islamic terrorists” because they aren’t Islamic. They can’t be “middle east terrorists” because they aren’t from the middle east - they are from the Punjab on the India/Pakistan border.

They are a completely different religion. And from a completely different place.

Sikhs have their own ongoing arguments with India and Pakistan but these have nothing to do with the US or Palestine or Bin Laden.

I’ve visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar (kinda like the sikh version of the Vatican). You have to go at first light (about 5 am). Lovely place, the people in the Temple and in Amritsar were hugely friendly.

Didn’t Gloria Swanson wear a turban?

Shiva H. Vishnu, take your hijack to GD where it belongs.
Anyone know of a website that shows how to tie the turban like the one in the last picture in donkeyoatey’s excellent link?
