Who were the five most beautiful women in the history of film?

In no particular order:

  1. Grace Kelly
  2. Grace Kelly
  3. Grace Kelly
  4. Grace Kelly
  5. Grace Kelly

Kathy Bates

haha… yeah right! But Maria Bello is definitely a hottie.

5.Ziyi Zhang

4.Olivia De Havilland

3.Jessica Lange

2.Claire Danes

And number 1

Natalie Portman

I’m convinced she’s a man in drag.

1)Natalie Wood
2)Rita Hayworth
3)Lauren Bacall
4)Barbara Eden
5)Jane Fonda (Yeah, I know, but check her out in “Klute”.)

Hedy might not have appeared intelligent in her roles – she even said that “any girl can be glamorous” just by “stand[ing] still and looking stupid” – but she was one of the brainiest actresses ever to grace the silver screen.

chinaglenn: While I appreciate the humor of your entry, it may interest you to know that LaWanda Page was once a stripper billed as the “Bronze Goddess of Fire” for her various flame-related tricks.

My list (in alphabetical order):

  1. Isabelle Adjani
  2. Grace Kelly
  3. Natalie Portman
  4. Gene Tierney
  5. Raquel Welch (page is borderline work-safe – no “naughty bits”, but some “arm over breasts” toplessness)

I’m scandalized that no one else realizes that Reneé O’Connor is the most beautiful woman in the world, let alone on film. Plenty of pictures of her here. And just to prove that I’ve studied the matter up close (and to brag that I met her), this picture is my evidence (I’m the fat schlub on the right; the other guy is film director Eric Escobar).

All hail the Queen herself!

As for the rest 2 through 5, I’ll go with (in no particular order):

Grace Kelly
Ingrid Bergman
Charlize Theron
Raquel Welch

Jawdroppers one and all.

Sam, I appreciate your attention to detail by posting links to 5 different photos of her. Very well done!

Which is rather ironic, considering Hedy’s accomplishments in areas other than acting.

Candice Bergen (at seventeen in 1963)

I have read that makeup artists said that she was one of the most naturally beautiful women in entertainment. I think that she is still lovely at fifty-nine on Boston Legal.

In no particular order:

1.) Nia Long

2.) Audrey Tautou

3.) Vasundhara Das

4.) Angela Bassett

5.) Karena Lam

Audrey hepburn
Vivian Leigh

Links already provided.

IMHO, and in no particular order…

Donna Reed (in “It’s a Wonderful Life”)
Ingrid Bergman (“Casablanca”)
Kate Winslet (“Sense and Sensibility”)
Elizabeth Hurley (“Bedazzled”)
Gwyneth Paltrow (“Shakespeare in Love”)

…and an honorable mention to whoever played Capt. Hunt’s unnamed younger sister in “Breaker Morant.”

She is Bridget Cornish, no info on her however.

Thanks, Jim. I’d checked IMDb, too. Quite a looker. Even though she’s only on screen for maybe twenty seconds, I still remember her.
