Ah, Morten Harket. He made my stomach feel all funny.
Art Vandalay, Stuart Adamson was found hanged in his hotel room in Hawaii on December 16 2001. Guardian obituary.
Dave Gahan is still pretty fine, although I liked the gelled hair and white jeans look he was sporting in 101.
I also liked Howard Jones, Paul Young, Corey Hart, Bryan Adams, David Coverdale, Michael Hutchence, and Alan Frew, lead singer of Glass Tiger. Oh, and George Michael. I was in total denial.
Easily Susanna Hoffs. She is still fine as hell today. Well, OK, I haven’t seen her today, but I have seen recent interviews with her. And … and…Oh man. Me like. :o
Oh, and on preview: Judith Prietht – great screen name!
Agree to all of the above, especially Blas. That long thick hair of his! I sat next to him at a Styx concert a few years back in Las Vegas… he was transfixed watching the concert, and I can only imagine he was studying what they did onstage as performers so he could learn from his elders. Yes, he still looks good.
David Coverdale was a hottie (it was all about his eyes!), and I have a real soft spot in my heart for Steve Perry. Something about the way he moved on stage still gets me to this day when I see the old videos on VH1 Classic.
And its not 80’s, but Tommy Shaw in his Damn Yankees years. Once again, the lovely long hair…
In the early 80’s, I had a SERIOUS thing for Annabella Lwin, the lead singer for Bow Wow Wow. I tried to get my girlfriend to shave the sides of her head, but she wouldn’t go for it.
Then I grew out of that and started lusting after Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth. I saw them at the Fillmore a few months ago, and she still looks great.
Lita Ford was pretty hot for trailer trash. And I always had the creeping feeling that she could take me in a fight.
I liked Susanna Hoffs until somebody on SNL (either David Spade or Dennis Miller, I can’t remember) did an impression of her from the “Walk Like an Egyptian” video and ruined the magic for me.
Patty Smythe of SCANDAL Featuring Patty Smythe was pretty hot in that video to “The Warrior” featuring Patty Smythe.
Women : I will have to repeat Susanna Hoffs and Kate Bush.
Doesn’t anyone like Patti Smith? Or maybe she’s too early to count for the 80s? Passionate and unconventional, a good combination! If Patti Smith doesn’t fit in the decade, then replace her with Suzanne Vega.
I think Madonna is a beautiful woman but the music doesn’t thrill me.
And how about Sade? Lovely voice and great looks.
For the men, off the top of my head: Peter Garrett from Midnight Oil.
