Because the question is not who we think will win the 2020 election. The question is whether or not Trump will still be in office when that happens and, if not, who will replace him.
That is correct.
Whoever wins the 2020 election will be president Jan 20, 2021. The office will be held Jan 19, '21 by either Trump or whoever else might finish out his term according to the Constitution (excluding scenario’s like ‘the constitutional govt itself doesn’t last that long’). I also wondered why a date in Nov '20, which has no particular significance for whether Trump finishes out his term, which I assumed was the question.
The result is about as I expected: what people here typically want to happen has shifted the result from IMO (whether I like it or not) upwards of 80% chance it’s still Trump to something like half that.
What makes you so certain the GOP will still hold both houses of Congress in 2020?
I voted for Pence only because even if Trump isn’t removed from office, he probably will probably not live to see 2020.
Oh, crap. I completely mis-read the question. Change my answer to Trump. (But in the case my “other” answer proves to be right, disregard.
)
My guess is, whichever warlord has best access to uncontaminated food/water.
I voted for Mike Pence … The Donald made a strategic error have him as VP … I think the main reason Bill Clinton or Barack Obama didn’t get removed from office was the alternative was worse … at least in Republican’s eyes … both George Bushes as well … and again in Republican’s eyes …
William McKinley was impeachment-proof …
