Who would you like to see dead?

Here’s the ground rules folks. You get one free pass in your life to simply wish someone dead. No consequences no suspicion will fall on you. Their death can be as painful or as painless as you wish.

The caveats -

  1. You are the only one who has this power. Thus no fear of retribution from a grieving friend, relative etc…

  2. No killing of someone famous. Hardly seems fair or else the dopers might have us left with only minor celebrities.

I figure those everyone falls into one of three groups. The first who would have used their free pass long ago. The second who don’t want to deny themselves the power but haven’t been that hurt, pissed off or angry yet. The third who would never be responsible for the death of another person even given the power.

If you fall in the first group who would no longer be walking the earth? For me it would be a high school bully who haunts me in my nightmares. Petty evil personified. I can’t imagine even after all these years that society would not be better off without him.

hmmm…

Not sure I like this thread, but here I am posting to it.

I’d reluctantly accept that power, if only to use it as a kind of “get out of jail free” card. I’d use it on any person who was about to kill me, or a loved one.

**Moderator’s note: **

Might be a fine line, but this thread strikes me as out of bounds. Careful qualifiers aside, wishing real people dead–without consequences and pain levels optional–goes beyond an exchange of opinions appropriate for this forum. Or this site, IMHO.

It’s my judgment call so hang no one else for my sins, but I’m locking this off. I’ll refer it on to the other mods and admins for review. If I’m wrong–and it sure won’t be the first time–it can be reopened or reposted.

But speculating on causing death to real, known people isn’t just a funsy intellectual exercise.
