Since I mostly lurk I debated it, but in the end I decided that it’s casual users like me that need to sign up (along with newbies, of course) to keep the community vital and not just the same 12 folks posting over and over. Not that that seems to be happening…

If the Powers That Be are on the ball, they will create and suspend accounts under the names “Charter Member,” “CharterMember,” “Charter_Member,” etc., to prevent some wiseacre or five from coming along and claiming them. If it hasn’t happened already. Heh.
