Every time I see “Charter Member” I can’t help imagine I’m standing in front of a classroom one evening, feeling out of place in a room with crayoned drawings on the walls and little desks I can barely fit in. I tap the mike and it whines. I stammer “Uh, I’m, uh … I’m a Corner Case, and, uh, I’m, uh … I’m, uh, a Trekker.” The sparse audience looks up and says, “HI CORNER CASE”.
Wasn’t there an old Groucho line to the effect of “I wouldn’t want to join any club that would have me as a member.”? Well, I’m a member anyhow!
