When the war started there was a lot of talk about the “coalition of the willing”, but I don’t recall seeing a list of nations and what they supplied.
Where would I find such a list ?

This site has info on the Coalition, as well on nations who are against the war.
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldwide_government_positions_on_war_on_Iraq
In case the site goes down, here is the list:
Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Rwanda, Singapore, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Tonga, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, and Uzbekistan.
Of these, only the US, the UK, Austrailia, and Poland have sent troops to fight.
Denmark has ships there, and a few others (Czech, South Korea, maybe Bulgaria) have sent non-combat troops.
i think a more accurate link will be this http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S.-led_coalition_against_Iraq
clearly this list of countries is very different from the so-called ‘coalition of the willing’ that the US has listed. Angola, Singapore, Panama, Tonga, Ukraine are under the US list but are not listed under this link.
Israel, Kazakhstan, Taiwan are not in the US list but are lister under ‘willing’ in this link.
i believe this link’s list is based directly on the stance as expressed by the nation instead of on the US list.
What…no Canada? Did they side with those cheese-eating surrender monkeys?
As a child of the Cold War, it’s so odd to see former enemy countries like Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, even Poland on that list. According to that link, they (and others) are all applying for NATO membership. So I guess you could call them the “Ass-Kissing Coalition.”
It’s so good to know Palau and Eritrea are on our side. I can now make my vacation plans as soon as I find them on the map.
Don’t forget the Marshall Islands.
Last I heard was last week on NPR when the Canadians tried passing a resolution on the subject. Apparently the resolution said they support the goals of the coalition forces, but do not support any change in Iraq’s regime. Since the main goal of the coalition is to eliminate the current regime the bill couldn’t get passed. I don’t have a site for it, though.
Unfortunately, our government puppied out, though our military is so badly funded and equipped that our contribution would be pretty minor.
Ironically, we have an exchange program with the Americans, so there are a few dozen Canadian officers in Iraq. I guess nobody bothered to yank them out.
