I have a fragment of a tune going through my head, so I issue the traditional plea for help identifying it.
The lyric I have is something like “driving in the [or my] car, car, car” with car repeated three times. That line itself is repeated several times. It’s not a children’s song, though it has the flavor of one. For some reason I associate a Python with it, maybe a tune from an album that wasn’t on the show.
It’s not “Driving in the Car” by Madness or by Tah Geggy (Geggy Tah?), which pop up in Google.
I believe that you are thinking of a stand up comedy routine where the guy does Elmer Fudd but as if he were singing Heavy Metal. I can’t remember the guys name, but I do recall that I saw him on (I think) Showtime in the late 80s and if memory serves he was a bit of a prop comic.
I can’t help you with the song you’re looking for, but the band is Geggy Tah, not the reverse. They got their name from their younger sisters inabilities to say their names as toddlers.
“Let’s all go to the Zoo” (not sure of the actual title) was used in a Monty Python sketch about Hippies living in a man’s body. He was in the Hospital to have them removed. They were singing this song.
Let’s all go to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!
(further lines use the same pattern of repeating the last word)
etc. etc.
This it?
Edit: I have the MP box set and time to kill. I’ll do some further research…
