I was proud of Lynette for not continuing the subterfuge once her child got involved. As long as it was the desk clerk’s assumption, she was desperate enough to capitalize on it. But once her child got actively involved, she refused to exploit him.
And Susan’s reliance on her daughter is not unusual, especially after the episode where the daughter laid out how depressed Susan had been after her husband left her. I’ve been in that position with my daughter, after MY husband left. You start taking care of each other, and our relationship changed. It’s not always good to do that, but it’s common.
