Dammit, they’re right. This is a just a list of favorites, not a discussion of arts or entertainment. Hence, despite two mod having looked in this thread and not been thinking about that, I’m moving it to IMHO.
Jenny McCarthy hit me at the right in my life as well. I didn’t know there were so many of us. She is about the only centerfold type that I even care about these days. I even bought one of her softcore Playmate videos which was a first and only for me.
There is one more. I LOVED Barbi Benton when I was very young. At 5 years old, I would stay up late to catch Fantasy Island and the Love Boat because she was a semi-regular guest in different roles. I was pissed that TV Guide didn’t clearly specify when she alone would be on the shows definitively. I don’t even think her pictures are that beautiful now but she did something to my Kindergarten brain (her and Linda Carter but LC wasn’t a playmate as far as I know). I did get to meet her years later in college. She was in a Mardi Gras parade and I went to the staging area and got to hang out for a long while. I couldn’t recall the sure-fire pickup lines I carefully grafted as a kindergartner however.
Sentimental favorite: Candy Loving. My grandfather had a boxed copy of Playboy’s 25th-anniversary issue, and I studied it intently several summers in a row.
Her layout’s still pretty sexy to me, feathered hair and all.
Most attractive to me when I was an adult reading Playboy with any regularity: Becky DelosSantos. Wikipedia doesn’t have a photo, and I’m not going image-shopping from work, but yum.
Liv Lindeland, because (a) it was the time in my life when I was pretty much continuously erupting sperm, and (b) I think she pioneered the first pubic hair in Playboy.

Actually, the first appearance of pubic hair was in a pictorial of actress Paula Kelly several years earlier. Liv was, however, the first Playmate to show hair.

Well, no not really, I’ve never found him in the least attrative. But I figured this thread could use more men. And his being the first official male centerfold deserves some kind of comment. I’d say it’s true that women are more into situations than visuals.
That said, I have Iggy Pop’s naked picture from his biography on my wall for years.
And I like (I mean like in a special way) some of Mappelthorp’s pictures…which brings me to another point…even if it’s not a female thing where are the gay guys talking about their visuals?

Barbie Benton – particularly before the seeming boob job sometime in the late 70’s or early 80’s.
I remember her from high school (no I didn’t go to school with her, I knew her in High School the way most of you did through her work).
I think she reminded me a good deal of a girl I had a terrible crush on (though Barbie was much more beautiful) she pretty much nailed whatever it was that floats my boat.
