Jenna Jameson, Asia Carrera, Kobe Tai, Jenteal, Stephanie Swift, and all the Vivid girls that rose to the top in the mid to late '90s are getting old. Not just old as in we’ve seen them too many times, but they are aging. Most of them are in their 30s now and a few are even hitting 40.
Being America, we want our porn stars to be 21, damnit! There’s definitely a new breed coming up and some (as far as I know) are even exclusive to the internet; something that would’ve been unheard of 5 or 10 years ago.
Anal queens Gauge and Taylor Rain, as well as softcore cuties Jordan Capri and Tawnee Stone all seem to be making names for themselves almost exclusively on the internet.
So who is your favorite? Is it a staple diva like Jenna, or someone none of us have heard of yet?
My vote will have to go to Taylor Rain, I think. I’m not into seeing her being peed on or choked but she’s so prolific that those seemingly isolated incidents can be overlooked. She’s one of the hottest and seems to do the widest variety of things, as opposed to someone like Gauge, who does anal almost exclusively, or Jordan Capri who, as far as I can tell, has never had sex on camera.
He started out in gay porn (top only AFAIK) - the classic early 80s stuff by William Higgins. Ah, men with actual body hair!
Anyway, my all-time favorite is über bottom Danny Sommers. He had a great career in the 90s, and last I heard from a Yahoo fan group was that he’s quit the porn business and is using the money to put himself through medical school. I think that’s pretty cool.
I should add that he’s only average-sized, but it doesn’t matter. He makes up for it by being so… enthusiastic and actually staying hard while getting rammed - and this in the days before Viagra®.
I guess my favorite of all time was Christy Canyon. I especially liked her natural-ness, including her unwillingness to shave down there when all of the others were.
But to me, there’s nothing better than a new face in porn. Isn’t the whole point of porn variety? My favorite porn star is really the one that I’m watching for the 1st time.
I tend to like the “stars” rather than “amateur” girls, and I prefer the bigger-budget productions from companies like Wicked and Vivid to gonzo movies shot on the cheap with hand-held cameras.
I’ve always been a sucker for slightly older, dark-haired, dangerous-looking women like Jeanna Fine, Anna Malle, Ona Zee, Ariana, and Nici Sterling (who has that wonderful British accent to boot!). For the blondes, I’m a huge Janine Lindemulder fan, and you can never go wrong with Brittany Andrews, Jenna Jameson, Nikki Tyler, and Jill Kelly. As for more exotic women, Asia Carrera is a long-time favorite, and I also like Chasey Lain (gorgeous eyes) and Tera Patrick very much.
Then I have a completely separate category for the “big boob” stars I like, such as Minka, Lisa Lipps, Summer Cummings and Skye Blue, and Donita Dunes. I adore buxom British model Linsey Dawn McKenzie, although I’m not sure if she’s actually done “porn” movies, or just photo shoots for magazines. Finally, I count the “fetish” girls separately as well: Masuimi Max, Morrigan Hel, Dita Von Teese, and Mistress Persephone are my favorites among the dominatrix/goth/retro babes.
Apparently I’ve been missing out! I’ve seen maybe six porn films in my whole life, and outside of Linda Lovelace, I couldn’t name anyone who has been in one.
