Did you know Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Chip Esten, and Jeff Davis have a touring improv show? I didn’t, until I saw a billboard a couple of months ago. So I immediately did some digging and got a ticket. So tonight, I get to see Whose Live Anyway!
Whose Line (American Version) was one of my top five favorite television shows of all time, in large part thanks to Ryan Stiles. I am super-excited to see the show this evening.
My understanding is that A.) Ryan doesn’t want to tour as much as Colin and Brad do, B.) Colin and Brad have been doing their two man thing for a while, and C.) yeah, though they’re good friends, Ryan’s been doing improv with Colin for decades.
I wanted to go last Thursday, but I had something else to go to for a class that evening. I love Whose Line (both versions) and really wish I could have gone.
We had once looked into hiring Ryan Stiles as a spokesman for a promotional campaign. It got scuttled when we learned that Ryan won’t fly. I wonder if that fact has anything to do with the fairly limited tour?
I showed it to my boyfriend and he didn’t even crack a smile. He stopped it halfway through, even. Meanwhile he thinks I have no sense of humor! He loves Tim and Eric, who have to be the most boy-stupid juvenile comedy team in the history of unfunny.
ABC Family airs two episodes of Whose Line nightly - 11pm/1130pm central. We DVR it and watch a bunch on the weekends. They’re back to the first season, for the most part.
