It is Friday morning in America, so I suppose I am listening to Morning Edition on NPR on the satellite radio. They had a very nice obituary for a rock & roll impresario from NYC ‘who was killed’ in the city last week.
The phone rang, the bird screamed. I forgot his name already. I did a check of the NPR web site, also the NYT. Nothing.
Who the heck was killed? How? (Yes, I am morbid.)
Daniel Harrison. I had to listen until it came up again.
It is such a common name, I will have to look to find his (printed) obit.
Stabbed by his girlfriend. Damn.
Here is a short article that explains his role in the music business.
I swear Obit writing is a Lost Art. Am I the only one who has written his own?
Not entirely a lost art. Read the ones in the Atlantic (only one a month, though). Worth the price of the magazine.
