ok so i start playing this game on popcap.com…it’s a fairly stupid, mindless game, called noah’s ark. consists of matching pairs of animals that go into the ark, and you have to match all the pairs on the screen, and there are blocks that fall and block the path between them and such. it doesn’t get harder the more levels you play.
so i start playing it today, who knows why. what i get hooked on are the ranks they give you. 30000 points, you’re an animal trainer, 50,000 a beastmaster. well, after super beastmaster (which is where i am right now), which is at about 300000 or so, they say the next rank is given at 999999999.
so i say to myself “hmmm. i wonder what the next rank is?” and you know curiosity killed the cat. so i keep playing. something in my mind was thinking that i had to get to 9999999, and i’m thinking “gee, that’s not that far…”. then i realize there are two more 9s that have to be added :smack: so i’ve made it to 6381360, i’m on level 205, and the damn thing’s still really easy. i mean no brainer, so i play a level in about thirty seconds while i’m waiting for damn slow SDMB pages to load.
Sivalensis, you are my new Satan. You’ve introduced me to the biggest time-waster since MAME or Worms.
And of course it gets harder!! It wouldn’t be an evil, mind-addicting game otherwise!
yeah i only concentrate on getting combos when the water actually rises. otherwise it’s pointless worrying about it.
i’ve been playing the non-time one, so i have it minimized, then just go back and play it now and then. a co-worker got me hooked on the damn site, now it’s hard to stop it! and there are so many addictive games! alchemy, the dinosaur egg one, the money one, the round ball one…argh! between that and smdb, i don’t do much!
all I get is that stupid image icon
