Why are back issues of Harper's Magazine unavailable for purchase on Amazon?

You can buy a subscription, but not back issues. I have an Amazon resale account and have listed (and sold!) some REALLY.WEIRD.STUFF, but these aren’t even available for listing from my end, or purchase from the customer’s.

Does anyone in the Dope hivemind know? I asked this on the Amazon vendor’s message board, and they didn’t know. Most of them said things like, “Yeah, like who’s going to want a 40-year-old copy of Harper’s?” and my reply was, “You might be surprised, and I got them for free anyway.” I typed in other dates, thinking that the non-listings were just for this time frame, but it appears that this magazine is blocked on that site.

I’m not aware of any publishing or copyright conflicts.

When I say “really weird stuff”, I am quite pleasantly surprised in the magazine department that there is any demand for Reader’s Digests from the 1930s, or Architectural Digests from the 1980s. I have quite a few of both, obtained at little or no cost, and have sold a surprising number of them.
