WISN channel 12 (Milwaukee), an ABC affiliate, is airing Power Rangers this morning at 2:30. Why? 
What program director thought that PR’s core audience would be up watching at that hour? And it’s a scheduled show, because it’s in the local TV guide. I can understand Boomerang & Cartoon Network airing it at this hour because they are 24 hour cartoon channels. But why would an ABC station do that?
And right after Power Rangers is ABC World News. I guess they figure that after watching PR a 4 year old wants to know how the war in Iraq is going. Strange.

Well, ABC is owned by Disney and Disney owns the Power Ranger in the US. So maybe they figured some 25-35 year olds who fondly remember the original series, just might be up at that hour watching.
Maybe they’re trying to compete with Adult Swim?

I guess that they couldn’t line up a shopping network or an infomercial.
The networks don’t make programming decisions outside of primetime for affiliates (and inside of primetime the affiliates can override.) So don’t blame Disney.
Maybe someone at the station bought the rights, decided it didn’t do any business at a reasonable hour, and needed someplace to put it to fill a programming hole?
Is the ABC World News a rebroadcast?
Things were much easier when they just broadcast a test pattern at that hour.

Tweakers don’t care that it’s 2:30 a.m., since they’ve been awake since last Tuesday or thereabouts.
I think the Power Rangers first appeared in about the mid 90’s. Subtracting 10 years from your age group would mean they were between 15-25 when it came out. I have a 9 year old nephew who thinks they are incredibly stupid.
Actually, I’m not sure when they came out. My youngest was born in '85. By 94 he had already outgrown the “Ninja Turtles”. I don’t recall any PR stuff in my house.
Anyway, it’s still a strange program to have on a 230am!
A better question is “Why are Power Rangers on at all?” or “Why are they still making this shit?”

Slip a power ranger ep. on and he’ll watch what’s on after so he can find out what’s going on in the world.?
Just a guess…
They started in 1993. More than any human could want to know about the Power Rangers can be found here. I can’t iimagine anyone in their 20’s watching that show - even stoners and tweakers. I used to be a stoner and I couldn’t watch it.
