How come in all the tampon/pad and diaper commercials, they always pour a blue liquid on the product to “prove” it’s absorbency powers? Why not orange, or green? Is there any special reason why blue is always (and consistently) chosen?
well sure. they’d lose the menstruating-martian market.
From what I understand, it’s because blue is about the least biological substance looking color we have. In other words, nothing comes out of the body looking blue. Maxipad commercials are revolting enough without having them dump a bunch of faux blood (or urine or bile) upon them. I suppose they could use green, but that still looks a little suspect where blue is more of a “clinical” looking color.
Plus only two colours contrast well on white (other than black).
