I’ve had glasses since I was eleven or twelve, and am fairly vision-impaired without them.
On Saturday, I went to the pool and of course had no glasses on as I prepared to get in. At the other end of the pool, I thought I saw a fascinating sculpture; I figured that a kids’ class had somehow put together some kind of giraffe-type animal with the different flotation devices available.
I walked closer to it to figure out how it had been constructed. Suddenly, when I was about three feet away, it moved!!
Turns out it was a woman doing yoga–she had been holding a pose for the length of time it took me to approach, then shifted as I got closer. Geez, she scared me. I must’ve looked pretty strange, scoping out this woman/sculpture from all angles!
Maybe it’s time to go for that lasik surgery after all, if only to prevent moments like this.
