Why can't I get enough of these Hitler rants?

Thankfully the cameras were rolling when Hitler was informed about all of these parodies:

Yes, that’s her. The two other women shown in closeup in the hallway are Hitler’s secretaries; the one who speaks to comfort her crying colleague is Traudl Junge (played by the very talented Alexandra Maria Lara). Junge died in 2002 and was the subject of a very interesting documentary, Blind Spot. Traudl Junge - Wikipedia.

Hitler Finds out about how the Watchmen movie ends. He’s not happy

There’s the thing. That particular clip works because Ganz delivers the goods.

When you say yours, do you mean you created that one? Because it was hilarious. “I don’t have the heart to ask what color my laundry is.”

Interesting that Bruno Ganz is Swiss. So was Billy Frick, an acrobat who made his living after middle age playing bit-part Hitler. He shows up at 3:10 into this clip from Is Paris Burning?.

He also did a memorable photo spread in the old National Lampoon magazine, as Hitler retired to the Carribbean

Don’t feel bad. Most Germans are, I dare say, passionately literal-minded. What other nations might construe as “humor” strikes them as little more than tiresome fooling around.

I speak German, and I find them hysterically funny.

Thankyoo, thankyoo veramuch.

Yes, I made that one. I wrote it.

Good one. Now I’m picturing the four generals, in uniform, in some parking lot buying shitty speakers out of a white van.

Guess I’ll post mine again too: Silent Downfall

Thanks - I enjoyed that all over again! The B&W grainy look is half the fun.

I’ve made a new one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJkmPzwsxo4

The General Staff is full of rednecks.

Love it!!

I’ve yet to see a Hitler rant using Downfall that’s actually funny. However, Hitler ranting about his car lease, using authentic Hitler footage, is comedy gold! (Well, it’s comedy gold if you can speak German. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a version with English subtitles.)

Following the link from our friend Shodan containing the original footage led me to a youtube cycle that had the entire movie in ots original form in fifteen parts.

It is a terrific movie. It is too bad it didn’t get released here.

Hitler is not impressed by Nick Griffin’s appearance on ‘Question Time’

It got a limited release in the U.S. - we got it here in the SF Bay Area, but I can’t speak to Nebraska. But yes, a superb film.

It’s available on Netflix, and that’s how I saw it. Well worth your time. There’s a DVD extra feature re: the making of the movie, which has the interview snippets with Bruno Ganz to which I earlier referred. (Much of the movie was filmed in Petersburg, Russia, ironically enough).

OK, I assume everyone has seen the “Republicans have no ideas” one, but this one makes a fairly good stab at taking some of the German dialogue and providing a persuasive English analog (as long as you don’t sprechen ze Deutsch, of course).
