why can't we post more than once...

every sixty seconds?

Often, I’ll have two or three windows open, and I’ll be responding in multiple threads. I’ll hit “submit reply,” windowshade to a different reply and try to submit it. Y’all know the rest.

Now, it’s not like I’m dying to submit in rapid succession; it’s not that I can’t wait a moment, but it seems like a rather useless feature.

So what’s the reasoning behind it?

(bear in mind, I know who’s sandbox I’m playing in, I’m just curious)

Makes it more difficult for trolls to flood the board with threads or threads with posts.

I swear I remember simulposting with myself once. So now I’m attempting to simulpost with myself with this response and a response in this thread.

Okay, so my previous post took place at 1:17pm CST as did this post. What’s the problem? You absolutely can simulpost with yourself as long as the posts take place in different threads.

It’s a very big problem at most sites, especially when they are running slow, that people think their post “didn’t take”, so the hit send again. Flood control just slows that reaction to one minute, which should be enough to at least see that the system has received the request.

That’s a nice side effect, but home schooled is 100% correct on this one.
