Why did 45% of Hispanic voters vote for Trump?

It bears repeating:

Dear Trump Supporters,

Due respect: like millions of others, you’re being manipulated. The GOP, Trump, RW media, and the Trump acolytes just keep lying to people over and over and over and over.

They assume you don’t know enough to recognize their misdirection, and that you either don’t have the skills or simply won’t bother to fact check that misdirection when it’s fed to you.

And it comes at you like a fire hose (see: Gish Gallop, Brandolini’s Law). There is just an insane amount of misdirection – too much TO fact check if you don’t have the education, training, experience, and knowledge to know fertilizer when you see it.

IOW, I truly have no idea where you’re getting your news, but I’d find another source – one that won’t treat you with such profound disdain, contempt, and cynicism – if I were you.

You should resent being used … by whatever sources you’re choosing. You should resent it deeply. I sure would.

TL;DR: It really isn’t their friends, their neighbors, their colleagues, or the Democrats who are looking down on Trump supporters, laughing at them behind their backs, and calling them stupid.

It’s the places where they get their news and the people to whom they keep writing checks.

You still don’t get it. You said the Repubbas lumped all those people together and then you did the same thing, and called them all stupid to boot.

Der Trihs, you’ve made maybe 200 posts since election night all with the same theme - things are hopelessly evil, things cannot be fixed, the voters on the wrong side cannot be persuaded, they cannot be educated, nothing can be done. Doom-doom-doom. I’m struggling to understand what you’re proposing as actual change of course or an actual different direction to go in. Every time someone proposes some new strategy, you say “nope, it’s hopeless and useless.”

Evil, ignorant or stupid; if they weren’t, they wouldn’t have voted Trump. “Moral, well informed, smart, rational people who voted for Trump” is a category with zero people in it.

And my point is that the Republicans have in fact lumped all those people together as targets, so they don’t get a choice in the matter. They are all going to be treated as the enemy by Republicans, and their desire to pretend otherwise won’t change that at all.

They’re not gonna get it until it’s a literal firehose.

I have to be fair here- apparently the big issue was inflation. You do not have to be ignorant or stupid to not understand inflation. Inflation is not simple or easy. Mind you, I will grant that the hard core MAGA voter is likely one or more.

Which first, puts them in the “evil” category for putting their wallet over the lives and welfare of hundreds of millions of people, and makes them stupid or ignorant for actually thinking that Trump and the Republicans would do anything but make the economy worse. And sets themselves up for persecution on top of that.

“I wanted cheaper eggs, so I voted in favor of the fascists” is a condemnation, not a defense.

It’s also just another stellar example of the “flood the zone with shit” strategy of the Republicans.

Eggs? Mostly bird flu:

And the farmers are asking for … [wait for it] … FDA approval of vaccines:

US farmers call for vaccine option to fight bird flu as wildfowl migration begins

If it wasn’t for double-standards, today’s Republicans would have no standards at all.

If it wasn’t for misinformation, today’s Republicans would have no information at all.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
