Why did countries join Bush's coalition?

I’m not intending this to go to GD, but if it does that’s cool. I’m just curious as to who joined the “Coalition of the Willing” and what they get for it/why they joined? Was it ever specified that we would give them something?

[hijack/observation]Lots of color-related questions today[/h/o]

I joined it cause all of the cool countries did, too.
Plus, I got an awesome, one-size-fits-all “Coalition of the Willing” baseball cap and matching beach tote.

Ah, Poland. It must hurt to be forgotten by John Kerry.

He never writes, he never calls, and he still owes me 27 dollars for dinner cause he “forgot to bring my wallet.”
Asshole.

This might be more IMHO but a lot of countries joined to get favorable treatment from the US in trade issues or other political considerations. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.

Fact facts. Kerry’s just not into Central Europe.

If a five hundred pound gorilla moves into your neighborhood, and wants everyone to plant bananna trees, a lot of folks will plant bananna trees.

People disagree.

Norway got listed as part of the coalition since we sent a mine clearing squad after the invasion, when the UN asked for men and resources to stabilise the country.

Dylan Moran suggested because we offered incentives to some of the less-well-to-do nations.

I wish I could remember the exact wording but it was something like.

“You have pictures of food? We’ll help you, sure! Just let us hold the picture for a while. Maybe you’ll send us some actual food if we’re really good?”

I think this is IMHO, but most of them were little third world countries that probably get some kind of foreign aid from the U.S.
