Why did God create Lucifer Morningstar? (Satan)

I just want to say that, until this thread came along, I didn’t know Lucifer had a last name. To avoid his wrath, wouldn’t it be prudent to refer to him as Mr Morningstar?

a very interesting take.

satan/serpent in the garden of eden is actually enki/ea. a freedom fighter and price of the earth.

god is actually satan in disguise. he fooled the human race and stole our spiritual/astral connection with the universe.

Ah, so we’ve got a believer in determinism here! Fair enough, but I’m sticking with Erasmus and Aquinas on this one. God intentionally threw out His ability to see all our future decisions by granting us free will. If you feel that he can see all our future decisions, then you have removed free will completely. If you can live with such a fatalistic approach, then go ahead; I cannot.

Besides the feeling of helplessness that fatalism engenders, I always felt that such absolute determinism is a bit of a moral cop-out. Where can morality live when everything is determined by causality?

Ah good idea. But does he have a middle name?

I’ve always understood that this is mostly an interpretation thing. The OT saw him more as a DA, and the NT sees him as an enemy.

That’s impossible!!!

Ask St. Augustine…
