Anyone know? I listen to talk radio as I do my housework and my (seemingly endless) errrands. One show I occasionally catch and have rather enjoyed is Ken Hamblin’s show. Yesterday, my station (850AM out of Norfolk) announced the Ken has cancelled his show. They said he was “fine” and gave no more info than that. I was slightly curious, but haven’t been able to find anything about this online. Now, I’m more curious than ever – do any Denver based Dopers have the scoop?
Today I checked again and found an article explaining what was up. Apparently Ken feels he wasn’t paid enough, so he took his ball and went home. He’s shopping for another station and hoping to be syndicated again soon.
Not very interesting, I’m afraid, other than the short notice. He didn’t say a thing (that I remember) on Friday. I don’t usually listen to every minute, though – I use the radio as background noise for the most part. And, when I was looking around yesterday, I found that he had guests scheduled for this week and everything. Anyway, mystery solved.
I went ahead and answered my own question here because, although I didn’t get any responses, the thread got quite a few hits and so I thought there may be a bit of interest.
