Why do I over-analyze cute videos?

Cute videos, heart-warming videos, funny videos…not every one, but a goodly proportion contain some…odd item that just ruins it for me. Two examples from this week:

First, the woman giving advice on how to NOT get eaten by sharks. The thing that bothered me was that she made this video herself WHILE DRIVING yet no one commented on that fact at all. We have distracted driving warnings and ads all over the place, but because this video was funny…no criticism any of the places I saw it aired. Not even a disclaimer on the morning news to “don’t do this!”

Second, really adorable video of a toddler getting her first pair of glasses and seeing her parents clearly for the first time. So moving! So precious! But I’m wondering, why were they trying these on over lunch in a restaurant? The lead-in to it says they “picked up her prescription glasses…”. Every single time in my life I’ve gotten new glasses, there is a sit-down, try on, adjust, adjust, measure, adjust…you’d think for something as crucial as glasses for a baby, they would have them tried on at the eye doctor to make sure the fit and everything was okay…not just hand them to the parents and say, “Let us know how they work out! Seeya Bye!”

So what other heart-warming stories or videos have been ruined for you by that One Little Unanswered Question?
