Why do people moan during sex?

Really,

How does moaning increase ones sexual pleasure?
If it didn`t then no-one would do it, right?

I`m guessing it helps control breathing and may create a pressure in the body that aids in sexual gratification in some way.
I think we all know that breath pace is a large part of the orgasm.

Or, it massages nerves that run through the neck and into the brain. The same path that connects the genital area to the noggin.

Cause and effect, dude. The moan is a result of the pleasure, not the other way 'round.

Same with heavy breathing.

Moans massaging nerves. Hmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Nope, didn’t work.

I think it’s an expression of pleasure rather than some adaptation to increase it. People go “mmmm” when they taste something good, too, but I don’t think that makes it taste any better. People also go “ow” when they hurt themselves, but I don’t think that makes it hurt any less.

You poor virgin.
You’ll understand when the time comes.

Very funny. Last count I had four offspring. And Im on my second marriage. You dont have to NOT be a virgin to have experienced an orgasm.:stuck_out_tongue:

Still, why? Why not snap your fingers or whistle      ?
Is there a biomechanical thing going on here?
We wouldn`t do it if it made matters worse. It must have something to do with increased pleasure or some kind of stimulus.

Moan? My wife only looks at her watch?

In my experience, people also moan if they are not having any sex…

Mine too, but only because she has to get up for work in a couple hours.

More to the point on the OP, do you notice that it’s usually the passive person who’s doing the moaning, either M or F? I bet this DOES have some purpose, maybe to express that the person acting is “getting it right”?
