I used to use my lastname as my login for some boards (then I realized that could be used for stalker purposes adn stoppped) and it has “man” in it so I wonder if people ever thought I was a guy. But, I think you are right, the assumption is that you are a white, heterosexual male for the most part unless there is reason to think otherwise.
PhiloVance, the West Virginia city is spelled “Gobblers’ Knob”. The REAL Pennsylvania town is spelled “Gobbler’s Knob”.
Look where the apostrophe is located. West VA must have more than one gobbler.
