Why do the Osmonds use so much water?

From last weeks Family Guy. I got the big teeth thing, but I didn’t get the joke about them using so much water.

I still remember when my brother got to go see Joseph ATTDC with Donny about 15 years ago. The first thing he said when he got home was “We sat in the last row and I could see his teeth.”

Pretty straightforward, innit? They are a conspicuously large family.

Squeaky clean image?

Don’t Mormons do full immersion baptism? For a family that size, that’s a lot of water.

Back when the Osmonds had the procedure done, when you had your teeth capped the dentist first ground off the bottom ridges of you teeth. Then, as you sat there in the most livid pain of your life with nerves exposed to the air, the dentist would slam the form holding the capping compound over them with one hand while holding you down with the other.

It was assumed that people with white, elongated teeth had opted to forgo the griding-off part.

They do, but only once.
