I recently traded in my 2005 Nissan Murano for a 2016 Hyundai Sonata.
I’ve always driven manuals and driven them until they start falling apart. Three years ago when my 23 year old Corolla was on its last legs, I started my search for a used, low mileage manual. When I bought the Corolla, it was 7 years old and only had 40,000 miles on it. I was afraid I wouldn’t get that lucky again since manuals are getting hard to come by and was resigned that I might have to switch to an automatic. I started my search at a Toyota dealership and amazingly they had just gotten in a 2009 Yaris. Manual, 5 years old and only 19,000 miles on it! That was it. My commute is only 5 miles a day and I only do city driving. It just passed 30,000 miles and I’ve had no issues with it. I hope it lasts 23 years.
