You are comparing two different sets of numbers. Your first set includes all unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. Your second set comprises unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. labor force. As you can see here, the unauthorized population has mostly stabilized at around 11 million since 2009.
According to the Pew numbers, which you seem to trust as accurate, I can’t see how you can give much credit to Trump for reducing the unauthorized immigrant population.
No, I imagine he personally doesn’t give a fig one way or another about abortion, and would be very much in favor of it for a mistress with whom he had an inconvenient mishap. But he’s willing to be hypocritical to gain the support of his base.
Most of the religious right will gladly make the tradeoff of ignoring sexual malfeasance of individual pols, in the exchange for the ability to interfere in the sex life of everyone else.
I had a long post but decided it really wasn’t relevant. You assume that my list on Trump would have a longer than Hillary’s and with that I would consider his crimes greater than her’s. But from your tone, it seem like you hate Trump.
You see, I can understand why people hate Trump. A lot of people were very invested in Hillary winning, the press, the DNC, etc. Re-watch the election coverage, watch the glee reports had when they talked about Hillary, how Trump had no chance of winning. How reporters wanted to be on the bus with the first woman to become president. How they wanted to be part of history. How they built up Hillary as the heir apparent to Obama, and how Trump had no chance of winning.
Washington Post “Donald Trump’s chances of winning are approaching zero.”
Reuter “Clinton has 90 percent chance of winning: “
They expected Trump to lose, after all they were part of the “good” people who knew what was best for everyone. They heard how Hillary was going to win in a landslide or a blowout. And in one night when Hillary lost, they lost also, and all those “good” deeds that they couldn’t get past congress could be undone. Trump could repeal all those executive orders, and there was basically nothing that could be done to stop it. It was unfair, Hillary deserved to be president, she worked so hard. So it was a crushing blow to many when she lost, and how dare Trump win, it was his fault.
Yes, I can understand how that would upset people, enough to hate Trump, but now there is a choice. You can accept the fact Trump is president, or hide in your room or gather with your friend and shout not my president, that’s your choice. Of course if you accept the fact Trump is president and if you think the country is going the wrong way, then vote for people who you think will lead this country in the direction you want. Like it or not, just like Obama was my president, Trump is your president.
This is all a bunch of bullshit, and the usual conservative failure at attempted mind reading. The reason that trump is disliked is not because he beat hillary. The reason that trump is disliked is because of the things he has done, the things he has said, and the things he has said he will do.
Over 3000 lies in the first year. 3000 lies in 365 days. That’s 8.2 lies a day. Would you punish your child for telling 8.2 lies each day to you? Would you ever believe him if you needed to?
The first set was to show the approximate number of illegal aliens in the and yes it was an older number but I try and used sources that both sides can agree on. I for example would not use Fox or CNN without a lot of documentation to back it up. The second set, was to show the approximate number of illegal aliens in different job categories. It was to dis-spell that notion that illegal aliens only take jobs that Americans and legal immigrants won’t do. There are many, including some on this board, that say illegal aliens don’t take jobs from citizens or legal immigrants. Personally I have found Pew to be basically neutral.
I’ve said before the way to control illegal aliens is to raise the fines to such an extent that it would be too great a risk to hire them. With no work most will self-deport. That by itself would reduce the number, then it’s just applying our laws when an illegal alien is picked up.
Didn’t say that, I’d like to see how they came up with that number though and how it compared to past president. Personally I think Trump’s number would be higher because he tweets a lot. But I still want to see how they came up with that number.
I’ve never held it against someone who changed their mind if they had a reason to do so. With Hillary, she didn’t give a reason why she changed her mind. What facts does she have now the made her change her mind? She was for fence when it seem like that was the thing to say to get votes, and against it when that was the way to get votes. Same with many other of issues, she seems to be saying what will get her the most votes.
No I’m not in favor of sanctuary cities, but if a local government wishes to become one shouldn’t that be up to the local government? As long as the local government doesn’t break the law, shouldn’t they decide if they want to co-operate with the federal government or not? But that said shouldn’t the local government also be held responsible if they release someone with an immigration hold on them and that person commits a crime?
I also wonder what those cities would say if the federal government said, “We won’t deport anyone from in your city, no matter what crime they commit.”
This will be my last post on this thread, it’s really isn’t going anywhere. While some of the posts have been very thought provoking, most are not. This thread is “Why do you like Donald Trump as President?” I gave my reasons, knowing I would get a lot of abuse. I gave my opinion, and it’s just that an opinion. Just like it’s others opinion that Hillary would have been a better choice. I felt and still feel that I could trust Trump more than Hillary, for a number of reasons, some listed here some not.
To those who posted the thought provoking posts, thank you. I want to understand your point of view, and I hope you’ll try and understand mine.

President Donald Trump has told nearly six times more lies in the first 10 months of his presidency than former President Barack Obama did in his entire 8-year term, according to data collected and published Thursday in the New York Times.*
