A cursory Google search didn’t turn anything up, so maybe I’m the only one who’s noticed this. I drink 500mL or so of water before bed every night, since I’m usually dehydrated at the end of an evening. In the winter, I tend to drink warm water (for obvious reasons), and I notice that if it’s quite warm I have to stop halfway through and wait a while because my stomach feels uncomfortably full. This doesn’t happen with room-temperature or cold water.
It could have something to do with blood flow attracted by the warmth of the water, since heat dialates vessels while cold constricts them. Not to mention, cold tends to numb neural response, while heat would do the opposite(Until it burns of course.) Also, even though this is an extremely minor point, warm water is less dense than cold water due to higher kinetic energy among the H20 molecules, so the same amount of warm water fills up a larger area than cold water.
I unfortunately have no answer for you, but you are not crazy. I’ve noticed this too, and it seems to be a common experience. I’ve also wondered about the cause.
