In the last hour or so, I have lost my connection to a website six or so times. In general, this happens immediately after I post some sort of information. As it has happened with multiple sites, it is clearly a problem on my end, but, at the same time, it is one that I am clueless about, as I have never had this problem before.
There are so many possible reasons for this general question.
Virus, over heating, bad equipment like the power switch, corrupted software or data, something set weird for a short cut key, are some broad reasons I can think of.
I thought your computer was shutting down in the end.
I’ve noticed that when popups are being blocked, and or some security settings are high, that a page can start to load and then the window closes for that site. Turn of your pop up blocker and other functional killers to see if it stops doing it. I was sick of the stuff killing and closing the windows like it did, and didn’t use it for anything other than updates with MS.
Sometimes with dial up it’s the providor not getting indication that the connection is still active. I think it was likely no reply to the service provider because of security setting. I had days where that was a problem and some where it wasn’t. Hopefully I have an easy solution to get it to stop right now for you. Set Outlook Express to to check for mail every eight minutes. Run it while on the internet, it’s inquiry ever eight minutes will stop the internet provider from disconecting you because they think your not on line.
