MacBook with OS 10.5.8.
Probably because if it had a late night, it doesn’t want to look in the mirror in the morning and realize it’s not the Apple of its own i.
I know. I know. I shoulda waited. But I couldn’t let this pass.

Stop that!
Speaking for myself, I welcome a good quip.
But no one else has had this problem?
Rotten Apple?
Your Mac must be partying with my PC, because that happens to me about once every ten days or two weeks.
Seriously, I cannot offer much help. I use PC laptops (WinXP and Win7). However, I deliberately turn off the standby mode (when closing the lid). I’ve also turned off the hiberation mode. For me, both are more of a problem than they are worth.

Judging from a simple Google search and you may not be alone.
If you let a Mac wait long enough, doesn’t it go into Hibernation mode? Does pushing the power button turn it back on? (I’m guessing not, but I figured I’d give it a shot.)
It’s supposed to come back on when you press any key on the keyboard or move the mouse. If you press the power button, it does a “hard shutdown” and then you have to press it again to restart it.
