I just installed the “Nightlife” expansion, and, all of a sudden, my Sim is pointing angrily at his toilet and expressing his disgust with it for no apparent reason. (Don’t know if the two facts are related. Probably not.)
He’s USING the toilet, the toilet doesn’t appear to be malfunctioning, dirty, or unflushed, and it’s one of only two styles available for purchase (and he doesn’t seem to like the other one any better.) WTF is he BEEFING about?
Mods: Wasn’t sure if this was “Cafe Society” or “GQ” material. Sorry.
Well, THAT would certainly be understandable. I ended up quitting without saving. I’ll let you know if the mysterious potty aversion continues. One thing, though – I know this is a dumb question, but I hadn’t played in a while. Are there really only two different toilet styles available, or am I missing something? Thanks for the input.
He might just want a brand new toilet. If you’ve had this one for a while and it’s old, he’s probably ready for one fresh off the lot. Or he might not like the way your current bathroom is arranged. Has he ever gotten scalded while showering because his woman (heh!) flushed the toilet? Is there a thought bubble above his head when he’s angrily gesticulating at the toilet? If this behaviour persists, I say you take away his toilet completely and see how he likes them apples. Be warned, though. If he’s sloppy, he might take to peeing while taking a shower.
And, yes, there are only two different styles of toilet in the game. The normal looking one and the more modern one. Well, and the urinal and stall. Maybe he wants a stall for more privacy?
There are meany, many Sims 2 sites where you can download new styles of various objects for the game, including toilets. One such source is this large Sims 2 mod message board.
I sometimes have a problem like that if there isn’t enough of a direct path to the object. Sure, there’s nothing blocking it, but the Sims are sometimes too dumb to figure out the longer way 'round. He does the foot-stamp, arm wave tantrum, then he seems to figure it out and walk a little farther to get to whatever object it is that he wants.
