Why Does "Outlook Express" Do This?

Sometimes, on my computer at home, Outlook Express will “insist” on showing a “pop-up” menu whenever I try to open an email. In other words, I can’t just double-click on a new email to open it, Outlook instantly brings up this pop-uop menu (as if I had right-clicked, perhaps) which starts with “Open” at the top of this menu…very annoying!

How do I prevent this? And, cure it when it happens? I have tried closing out of Outlook Express, and opening it again - to no avail. Sometimes, the “Escape” key helps cure other such quirks, but not this one.

My only sure-fire cure is to reboot! But, this is too extreme…there’s got to be a simpler solution! Has anyone else experience this?

Does this happen with any other program? This happens to me quite often, and I never use Outlook. Sometimes it goes away after some furious clicking, sometimes I have to reboot.

What brand of mouse do you have? Is it PS/2, serial or USB?

Check your mouse buttons and, if you have one, your option button on your keyboard (it would be to the left of your right Control button). Make sure you don’t have any dirt or dust in either place.
