Ahhh, yeess. Of course, how silly of me. The moderators are all out to get you, and only you, aren’t they? :dubious:
WRT Chefguy’s post: Many people believe bigot and racist are synonymous, when they aren’t necessarily? I am not sure if you are a bigot as far as Muslims are concerned, or if you are just an anti-Christian zealot myself. (But then again that could be considered a form of bigotry too.) ETA: And I’m Pagan, for the record, at that. Yeah, yeah, still believe in some form of Magical Sky Pixie, just with Male and Female aspects…
I do not remember saying the mods were out to “get” me, and I do not remember saying “only” me. I believe you heard that coming from the straw man you have been beating up. I said I did not expect “kind consideration” from them.
If you can show me examples of “kind consideration” they have extensded me, I stand corrected.
Show me where you have ever given them a chance? Your actions speak volumes, you’ve ASSumed they wouldn’t, and that is your truth. People can’t do good if you don’t ever give them a chance to do so. Duh! ETA: The previous post of yours that I had quoted and responded to, showed a lot of paranoia, and false assumption of facts, while lacking any evidence to prove they would behave in such a way towards you specifically.
I was obliquely referencing the aphorism “When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me.” in the quoted bit above. Sometimes we all could stand to be reminded of such ideas.
So far I have been called a “racist fuck”, a “racist asshole” and an “incendiary jerk” outside the BBQ Pit. I may have my faults, and I am the first to admit them. But I doubt if I have used such language very often (if at all) outside the Pit, where it is allowed. You might find one or two examples in hundreds of postings over the years where I have done so. . . . . . . . .
And the mods would warn me not to use such language.
Gee, I never noticed your use of ASS at the beginning of that word. :dubious: Duuuuuhhhh! Lilke t’anks for explaining it, lady!
Somebody once quoted that business about ASS and U and ME, and said we should never assume anything.
I replied “So every morning when you get up to go to work, you phone the bus company to ask if the buses are running, correct? You can’t just assume you woulod have heard if there was going to be a strike, right?”
Acting in good faith, and not prodding the proverbial hornet’s nest is also an intelligent way to foster good will from the mods. Your ideas have some interest in there, but you get in people’s faces and ram it down their throats and display histrionics in the face of the ocean’s tide washing over you. You’re eroding yourself more than they are. If you really hold the ideas, why scream when people state their ideas in response? What good does it bring you, to be so confrontational, so hostile? If you want to be heard, calming down and realizing that others are going to respond by speaking their veiwpoints, will bring more people who will listen (if not agree) instead of people who are only coming to watch you jump up and down and yell. Do you see what I am saying?
Hey now, I’ve been mostly polite to you, spoken to you as an equal, someone capable of comprehending the points I am making. Are you, or are you not? :dubious: If you are, then you know that you have taken the aphorism out of context and twisted it in an effort to goad me. If you are not, well, have my pity…
My impression was that the OP was a clumsy attempt to salvage the “Christmas is a Fraud” thread. The idea was that someone would come along and say, “But Santa Claus isn’t a Christian icon, so your point is wrong…” Then OP would say, “Aha! See? I was right after all in that other thread.”
But nobody took the bait because the “satire” wasn’t good enough to take seriously, just as the assumption that readers of this MB are like naive children gathered around a fire who need to be informed by OP about something they already know.
