It is not nuanced. It is obvious. But some people are so blinkered by their hatred, they can’t see obvious.
You’re well across the line of disingenuous argument now. I’m done with your sophistry.
It’s obviously STUPID. We’ve come full circle now. Let’s just stop. I’m starting to become embarrassed for you.
Look in the mirror.

Wasn’t it the deal that we were supposed to accept that Trump had no political experience or knowledge of foreign affairs or interest in attending briefings or desire to work the hours but it was all okay because he’s a master communicator? All he had to do was speak and he could convince people to do what he was saying? It was supposed to be the one overarching virtue he held that would make up for all his deficiencies. Trump didn’t need to do all the things presidents usually had to do because he could just pick up a phone, talk to somebody for a few minutes, and everything would work out.
Now that it’s turning out that Trump has poor communication skills, what has he got left?
No, trump could clarify.
If trump clarifies, and I realize that I misunderstood the context, and I refuse to accept that and double down on it, then yes, it is on me.
You are stating, absolutely incorrectly, that I disparage all courier services, because I think it is stupid to use that as a primary means of communication between govt offices. (at least for anything “important”[can you define "important?]).
Like I said, I use couriers from time to time to receive or send documents. Every two weeks in fact, a courier drops off my paychecks.
That you refuse to accept that I even said that and continue to say that I disparage all courier services, means that you have no interest in furthering the debate point.
You have not stated when you would use the DCD. What did you send (obviously can’t be too specific.) and how long did it take? Is it the sort of thing that you would use for day to day correspondence? Is this the sort of thing that could be used for time sensitive communication?
His minions.
I have yet to see anyone in any way authoritative call him “master communicator”. Or even any “pundit”. Cite?
And if you’re referring to that statement about computers not being safe is crystal clear. Except to people whose mind is clouded with Trump hatred of course.
Oh, good, so what the president says about policy doesn’t matter. Good to know. Makes me feel better.
Actually, it seems that very little he says survives first contact with the outside world.
That’s why he has so many surrogates to give wrong explanations that he can contradict at a later time.
Hey, you’re back! Why so serious all the time ![]()
You said something was “as stupid as couriering your secret documents” You didn’t say “as stupid as using couriers for communication between govt offices”
Now, I ask for clarification: Do you mean to say couriering secret documents is stupid? Or is it NOT stupid? Or is it only stupid in cases that you failed to mention in your initial posting, and that we the readers are just supposed to know that you meant?
Classified items that are used on a regular monthly basis can be couriered in advance. It doesn’t matter if it takes 2 weeks or 3 weeks to get to the destination, since you won’t need it until a month later anyway. But security in transit is paramount.
No I would not use this for day to day correspondence, nor did I say I would.
No this could not be used for time sensitive communication, nor did I say it could.
No, I don’t think Trump knows what he talking about, nor am I defending his words. I am simply responding to the belief that couriering secret documents is stupid.
I do think couriering paychecks is stupid. Don’t you have direct deposit? ![]()
It wasn’t from a lack of trying. It seems that that was prevented by a determined effort from concerned citizens who prevented the Democrats from selective banning, and registering/confiscating any firearms they arbitrarily chose to find unacceptable. For now. Obama’s Supreme court picks voted against the 2nd being a right of the individual. That trend had to end. And it did.
OTOH, I don’t know what kind of President Trump will be, but I’ve never considered him, or his actions, to be childishness. However, the weeping and gnashing of teeth currently being demonstrated by the Hillary worshippers does look like childishness.
The Whitehouse?
Agree with who? You? Who else said we should dismantle our digital communication capabilities?
If you want a gun, you can buy a gun. You might have a few less options about which guns you can buy, but I’m not going to lose sleep over that. It seems to me that there are a wide range of guns that would be good enough for any lawful use, even if the gun grabbers enacted some assault rifle legislation. I’m not sure I would agree that there is a Constitutional right to get exactly the gun of your wet dreams.
The main point, it seems to me, is that the marginal offense of losing the right to buy a particular gun you desire pales in comparison to the very real and dramatic travesty of a Trump presidency. I don’t get the view that “sure he’s an incompetent buffoon, but at least we’ll keep our full range of gun purchase options.” What’s more important?
Here is the statement from the horse’s mouth: “You know, if you have something really important, write it out and have it delivered by courier, the old-fashioned way. Because I’ll tell you what: No computer is safe.”
I stand corrected. He didn’t say anything about dismantling Twitter. I guess whatever he posts there can’t be very important.
In that specific instance, I was addressing Trump. I was responding to his claim that important documents should be couriered. So, since I was addressing trump, the president elect, and slight reading of the context would indicate that that is exaclty what I meant.
There are some uses for DCD, though to be honest, I can’t think of a reason to use them for document delivery, only cargo, but I am sure there are some things that are so sensitive they cannot ever touch a computer network, and it is okay for them to take 2 weeks instead.
By his statement, trump indicates that this should be the status quo for communication, not the exception.
That’s pretty stupid.
Couriering documents for day to day communication is stupid. Couriering documents that cannot be easily replicated, or that are not too time sensitive, or that are going to make it across town in a couple hours is fine.
It is maybe not only stupid (like using DCD to send out birthday invites) in the cases that I was specifically talking about, but those were the cases I was talking about. Intergovt communication.
See, here’s where context would help you. Trump said that if something was important, you should write it down and courier it.
He did not say that if you need materials in place a few weeks in advance, using a courier service would be a good fit.
Then you are responding to a belief that no one shares. I fully agree that there are times and places where using a courier service is a good idea. Trump was not pointing out a good time or place to use it.
I think paychecks are kinda stupid too, but a few of my employees still prefer them to direct deposit.
So, since you think that couriering paychecks is stupid, how do you think they should be sent?
And just how was that done?
CITE! (Ha. Got you now)
