Why don't you idiots calm down?

I like to not capitalize my first word.
I said it was SPELLED properly, not capitalized properly.

You are a nitpicker.
One can get sent to hell for that, too.

Chicken?
There are rules there to not get the board involved with other boards.
I do not blame them.
What would you do anyway? Just go there and yell at them?
Doing what you think is best even when others dare you is not chicken ,my dear man.

No more bizarre than your “about face” on matters of love, acceptance, and letting god be the judge. Maybe H4E or the Jersey Twins died and you’re channeling them? God’ll getchya for that… :dubious:

I’m nibbling on the peak of my cap cause I am almost sure you did defend yourself in some"yes some of them are gay and some are liberal and some are mean" threads. I also am sure you defended your liberal views in the “SD to go pay thread”. If I remember rightly several people said thay wouldn’t come here to be abused because no one here understood. The thread can’t be that old! But I only read it last night anyway.

I actually went there to see what the response to the pro-choice rally was. It is a very small board but I thought there would be comment…the SDMB thread caught my eye first.

I was Very clear about not mentioning the board.
I feel fairly comfortable in my not-going-to-hell-or-heaven status

At least she hasn’t lost her sense of humor!

What a dork.

Cite? Apparently, in christianity, it’s as bad to nitpick as it is to murder unborn children? Wow. That’ll have 'em beating the doors down to sign up, huh?

I’m just commenting on the fact that you have a big enough mouth over here, but hesitate to involve your new “fair weather” friends over at that place with the checkered tablecloths. I assume they’ll be pissed off that you involved them in your indefensible turning of tables over here. That’s ok. I couldn’t be less interested in what your hypocrite friends are blathering about over there. But others might be. I’m much more interested in hearing how nitpicking and abortion managed to get equal “sin points” in hell.

Soooo, in other words, you were lying to us and humoring us.

Well, I was taken in. I won’t be so gullible next time a religious person pretends to be open-minded and friendly, that’s for sure.

Kalhoun (genuine nerd)

You got whooshed!

try and figure out how(hint: it involves nitpicking)

Oh they are not the checkered table cloths types. Too LOUD for that. A whole other place …I found it through there though.

Damn! As a life long athiest I spend too much time reading what those people say…hhhhmmmmmmm could that mean I’m open minded???

vanilla, I’m really curious as to how you manage to reconcile being instructed not to sit in judgment of your fellow human beings with your new stance that it’s imperative you inform those that you’ve decided are sinners to reform and repent?

Oh, yeah. I think that’s exactly what she said.

Listening to the views of most anti-choice folks, these reasons are not ‘good’ reasons. I think your average anti-choice activist would say that your health was not in danger and you could have chosen adoption instead.

So are you telling us that, as long as a woman has what you consider to be a ‘good reason’, such as…ummm…let’s see now…father said its not mine and took off and got married, no money, quit job, no babysitter even, on welfare, that you would support that woman’s right to choose to have an abortion?

Is it? I’d like to look this up in my Bible. What book and verse should I check?

Vanilla, am I so far beneath your notice that you won’t even answer me? Do you condemn me? And are you prepared to accuse me of watering down the Gospel or sacrificing Truth in the name of popularity?

CJ

Vanilla doesn’t have a biblical cite for this. Or anything she’s blathering about (not that it would mean anything to anyone but a christian anyway). She’s using the christian standard “YOU’RE MEAN!!” defense because she won’t admit she has no personal moral code whatsoever. Her morals reflect whichever group she’s parroting that day. She relies on pseudo-christian rantings to justify that which she feels guilty about. She is a child.

Actually, Siege, I’m feeling rather ignored as well by vanilla and I’m not sure why.

Don’t worry, Sugarbabe. The rest of us heathens are here to love and respect you. Take it as a lesson learned.

Oh, please don’t do that. That would be just as wrong as me saying if I have one bad experience with a person who is different from me or thinks differently than me that I think the whole group is out to deceive me.

Please don’t discount all us religious types based on the actions of one.

Well … yes. If nitpicking’s a sin (and if it is, I am sooooooo screwed), yes, it’s as bad as murdering unborn children, or murdering anyone, for that matter.

There aren’t grades of sin; one is either a sinner or one is not. Now, since assuming you’re not a sinner is, itself, a sin (it’s called presumption), the best thing for a Christian to do is assume that s/he is (in God’s eyes) at least as bad as everyone else. Maybe worse. It’s the basis for that whole “non-judgmental” thing that we’re supposed to have going on. I am a sinner, and the only way for me to be saved is to accept God’s grace, freely given. I mean, I can (and should) try to live a good life, but the fact is, I’ll probably fail. Fortunately, God’s grace is freely available, for the asking.

At least, this is my take on it … as a practising (but still strictly amateur) Christian. YMMV.

 Then you should probably do as you believe for once (instead of being the raging hypocrite you’ve already proven yourself to be*) and remove the link to your homepage in your profile. Took me all of one minute to suss this one out, not that I plan on visiting a bunch of holier-than-thou bigots.

  • I.e., killing “innocent children” when it’s convenient to you, then weeping ‘n’ wailing ‘n’ gnashing your teeth in judgmental consternation now that you’ve “seen the light” and are SOOOOOO much better than all the others who wish to have the same rights you availed yourself of so readily.

Personally I think you’re taking the Hell Express yourself. Not for abortion (since apparently your God gave you a free pass by sacrificing His son, letting you do ANYTHING as long as you say you’re weally weally sowwwwy afterwards), but for turning your back on Jesus’ teachings, the reminders of which in this thread you’ve continually ignored.

Y’know, I don’t believe that you’re a babykiller, but apparently you do. And yet you feel superior to someone like me, who’s never had sex outside marriage nor smited any children.

Fuck you.

Actually, that all depends on which flavor of Christianity you’re talking about. What you’ve stated is the Protestant party line, IIRC. However, us Catholics draw a very distinct line between mortal sin (a grave sin, engaged in knowingly and willingly) and venial sin (a sin that can be “repaired” through charity).
