Where do I fit in?

I hate obama, I love America and guns, I do not go to church except Christmas eve and sometimes easter, I voted for McCain, I dispise big goverment and liberals , I love animals, I drive an SUV that gets 12mpg and I don’t eat flesh, eggs, or dairy, not even fish.

Not sure what I am?

Vegan Republican? /shrug

A douchebag with dietary restrictions?

I should add,

I hang out with gay people and think they should be able to marry, I am against abortion in all cases except incest, rape, and danger to the mother, my best friend is spanish and I enjoy being with black people as well. My favorite band is the Grateful Dead and I have been to over 25 shows, I used to smoke pot but not anymore.

Do you think it should be regulated by government law, or do you just think people shouldn’t have abortions?

Up until that one you’d be a hearty libertarian.

You’re one of a few hundred million other people living in a nation founded on coexistence and compromise.

You’re an American.

Our votes were counted and our leader was elected. Now put your shoulder to the wheel with the rest of us and let’s get this bitch back on the road!

I just don’t think they should have them. We do not need any more laws in this country or the goverment involved in anything more than they already are.

I love you.

Gasp Oh golly, my! Some of your best friends are colored! And you don’t want to gas the fags! You’re some sort of super-progressive Patriot!

LOL, you live up to your name

Not to get all into a thing, but the fact that you “hate Obama” is a little iffy. Sounds like you think you hate him because TV/radio/blogs/whatever tell you to, and dehumanize him and list every fault he has or could ever have. An overpoliticalization, basically.

I didn’t vote for McCain, naturally, but I don’t hate him. I agree with him on a few things, but even though I disagree with a lot of what he says/does/thinks I don’t fault him for it. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, I do hate now because I’m aware of practically everything she’s ever done and think she’s a dishonest, attention-seeking, harmful, despicable person. I dont hate her for her politics.

Unless Obama has eaten the head of a live baby, I cant think of any real reason to hate him at this point except for the fact that he’s not the guy you voted for. Even if you disagree with his politics, he’s yet to do anything notably dangerous or dishonest.

The fact that you felt obliged to mention your black friends makes me suspicious.

I’d guess that you don’t fit into any political cookie-cutter, though you wish to, so you attempt to absorb the politics of the nearest neighbor (conservatism) even though you might not necessarily want to.

Funny, but we’re in MPSIMS, so please don’t insult other posters.

“I hate liberals” and “I love America” and such are immature attitudes, I think- although maybe you’re just giving quick summaries of your opinions. You sound mostly like a libertarian, but why the need to fit in in the first place?

‘Enjoy being with black people.’ I’m not exactly offended, but I can’t say I’ve heard it put that way before.

To me you do sound most like a libertarian. I have known pro-life libertarians before. There is an organization called Libertarians for Life.

I really don’t get the “hate” for the other side of politcal arguments. I’m pretty conservative by local standards. The Dope is a festering heap of liberalism. Place positively reeks of sappy, naive, starry eyed liberals actually expecting the world to be fair or some such nonsense. So what? There’s good folks on either side of the political aisle.

Liberals throw better parties, and liberal chicks seem to be better in the sack. Conservatives give more expensive gifts, and serve better booze. If we get invaded, the liberals will be cannon fodder, offering counseling and touchy feely horeshit to the invaders. That will buy time for us conservatives to grab our guns, form up and oust the invaders. Teamwork and stuff.

OK, so I’m poking a bit of fun above. Bottom line, being a silly, naive, starry-eyed- with-flowers-in-their-hair liberal doesn’t make someone a bad person. Being a cynical pragmatic conservative doesn’t make someone a bad person. Rational minds can reach different conclusions from the same facts.

I think it was in Jon Stewart’s book “America” that it said that Americans hold wide ranges of opinions on a huge number of issues, so it’s incredibly lucky that each and every one of them can be divided into two camps - Republican or Democrat.

You’re a human being. To hell with categories. Some people fit neatly in them, but just as many people don’t.

I’ll agree you sound mostly Libertarian. But, why put yourself in a box by trying to define yourself as a part of a collective? That’s the problem I have with political parties (all of them) in the first place. People start out defining their political party affiliation by which belief system most closely matches there’s. Pretty soon, the political party defines them.

Why those particular exceptions? To put it another way, why do oppose abortion in the case of a woman who simply does not wish to carry a pregnancy to term? Why is it OK, in your view, to terminate a pregnancy that results from rape but not a pregnancy that results from contraceptive failure?

Is this your way of saying you have black friends, or do you just like black people as a group?

Both, basically I just wanted to say that I do not hate obama because he is black, I hate his politics. I guess it is wrong to say hate. I certainly do not hate him as a husband or a father, maybe not even as a person. Biden on the other hand

Oh yes I think Sarah Palin is the bee’s knees.
