We’ve now had at least two moderators posting in this thread, showing that they’re aware of this idiot and what he’s doing. So can we please get an answer to the question posed in the OP? Why has he not been banned? Has a decision been made one way or the other, or is it at least being discussed?
I think it’s clear he’s violated the hate speech rule, the one-trick pony rule, and definitely the don’t be a jerk rule, and probably others I’ve missed, but from what I’ve seen, he has yet to acquire even a warning for his moronic behavior.
I’m going to disagree with you on that one. He’s been here for several years, and he’ll be here for several more. The only thing that’ll change is the name.

I got a warning once for saying “Fuck all the people that are going to reply ____” even though no one had actually said that yet. It was a preemptive fucking and it still wasn’t cool.
If you want to fuck someone, phrase it as against their language instead. So, like, “You think I should drown babies? Fuck that, you fucking creep.” See? Not “fuck YOU” but “fuck THAT” followed by an insult.
I’m not sure he even knows what a LIBERAL is, only that they’re bad. I can imagine him going through his day cursing everything bad that happens to him as LIBERAL. Someone cuts him off in traffic? Damn LIBERALS! The starbucks barrista spills his coffee? Damn LIBERALS always spilling coffee. His sink is clogged? Damn LIBERAL sinks, always getting clogged. Rain ruins his picnic. Damn LIBERAL weather, ruining picnics.
The short answer is that he hasn’t been here very long and we try not to give people the bum’s rush. It makes us look hasty and it deprives people of threads like this one.
The long answer is that the rules here, including “don’t be a jerk,” apply to a person’s behavior and not to his opinions. If you have vile and racist opinions but are able to state them in a civil way and you can talk to other posters in a relatively calm fashion without behaving like a fucknuts and calling people names, you’ll be allowed to post here. And for that reason we do have at a handful of people who are open about being racists, to varying degrees. It’s a little nauseating to read but I think the reasoning behind it is solid: declaring “anybody who believes this is a jerk and gets instabanned” is a little dictatorial. We’d rather make rules about how people can behave instead of what they can believe. Spirit of intellectual inquiry, diversity of opinions, blah blah blah.
I warned bullrun for insults about a week ago. He was calling people names like “libtard” while posting in Great Debates, which is definitely not allowed. And I see he got a second warning for political comments in GQ a few days ago. If he gets the message and understands he is being warned for behaving like a jackass and not for being a conservative, then he may stick around here for a while. If not, he won’t. It’s bad enough that he’s a bigot who uses arguments that would embarrass a third grader; his spelling and punctuation are so bad they make my head hurt.
Ugh, I’m so sick of working. Seriously, why didn’t anyone tell me my rights as a liberal included being on welfare? Jesus christ, this working at 8 am shit is detrimental to my health.
