OMG: If Romney wins, I donate $100 to SarahPac or another charity or political organization of your choice. If Obama wins, you give $100 to Planned Parenthood. Loser to post a picture of themselves holding a handwritten note saying “I, [black rabbit/OMGABC], gargle [OMGABC/black rabbit]'s balls”, to Imgur. Loser to also post a PDF or JPG of the email sent by the charity confirming the donation, with all personally identifying information obscured per the poster’s individual discretion.

You draw what conclusions you choose about OMG’s reasons for refusing to support his contentions with anything that matters, and about my intelligence. I draw the obvious conclusion that he doesn’t want to lose this bet, and the odds are overwhelming that he would, and he knows it. If I offered to bet him the same, but on the contention that Romney will win no more than 200 Electoral College votes (i.e., that this election will result in an Obama blowout landslide), and you don’t think he’d take me up on that? It is to laugh.

If Romney wins will you run the bases at Citi Field naked? It’s not a bet, just judging your level of commitment.

Probably overstates my degree of confidence in Obama by a little, though I’ve often wanted to do that run, preferably in front of a 4th of July audience.
The point, of course, to be remotely serious for just a second, is that like a money bet (I’d gladly wager $100 or $200 at even money on Obama) this is essentially unenforceable on the SD (and trust me I have more experience than anyone here in collecting money on the SD) but a sig line bet is going to be enforced. No one would let me post without being reminded that I reneged on my bet if I lost and then refused to post a sig line as promised.

I don’t get the mindset of someone that would set out to say outrageous things just for the sake of saying them. There’s enough crazy out there without faking it. Maybe it’s an attention-whore thing, but if so, it doesn’t work. If I get a whiff of that off someone, I’ll IGNORE them. As I said, there’s enough real crazy already.

If that’s the case, perhaps you should learn from that. If not, the example still stands - political discussions get heated enough without this kind of escalation. Do what mature people do: wait until after the election, and dance & gloat relentlessly in a Pit thread

Wow, have you got that wrong. I was offered $500 to leave the board, I finally worked it out so I got the $500 (Yay, me! Never happier about a business transaction in my life!) and then the guy who paid me said, “Oh, and I don’t care if you come back or not. You can keep the $500, too.”
If that is your idea of losing a bet–collecting $500 and getting to do what you were paid off to refrain from, anyway–I’d like to lose a bet like that to you on a regular basis.
