For the last several weeks, my junk email has all been either from “newsletter@ something.xyz” or lately “newsletter@something.us.”
My question is “Why?” Is it something in my mail server? I used to get the usual spammy addresses, with some random url. Now they are all “newsletters.” Weird, and I’m wondering. This happening to anybody else?
Probably just random. A few months back I was getting 10 or 15 a day from the same sender. At least it’s easy to push to my spam folder, but it was still a lot.
IIRC, there was even a thread here about it because someone else was getting just as much from the same sender.
Since “newsletters” are usually signed up for, putting “newsletter” in the address might con people into opening it.
Also a way to get past the spam filters, for the same reason.
