Why is Indiana Jones being hounded outside his office in The Last Crusade

He’s the Superman of that campus. Every girl wants to marry him and every guy wants to be him. Of course it’s because he’s famous.

I think this is hardly true. He’s got a reputation as eye candy among the women students, but it’s safe to say nobody knows of his off-campus exploits, so he’s just another dry lecturer (an admittedly difficult one to get a hold of) to the rest of the campus body

My impression is it was a combination of popularity and actual academics. There are a disproportion of women amongst the throng to emphasize Indy’s popularity with the girls (altho there might be a couple male fanboys there as well,) but some of the women and men might be there to see him about academic matters as well.

at the end of the class, doesnt he say that papers are due for mid terms and that he would be in his office if the students needed him?

Yes, but they keep getting killed by poison darts, gigantic rolling boulders, light beam operated 3000 year old spear traps, etc.

… and that’s just in the on-campus dorms!

This is what I thought, too. I’m going to have to re-watch it now.

I think this movie is actually the best movie Spielberg has made, so I don’t mind re-watching it a lot.
