Why is Outlook trying to send emails that don't exist?

As the title says. Outlook keeps trying to send two emails. Each attempt fails. There are no emails in the outbox. Anyone know what is going on?

McAfee Virus Scan is up to date and I did a scan today with nothing untoward found.

The system is running Windows XP and it is Microsoft Office 2003.

I suggest visiting the following link:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

I have found this to be very good at catching little nasties. There are many other good ones out there. The fact s no one anti-virus or anti-spyware tool finds everything. I run symantec AV, but frequently run other scans just incase Symantec missed something.

After using ewido, I suggest you uninstall it, or at least close it. I have worked on several computers that were running very slow, and exhibited behavior like they were infected, but it turned out the real problem was four or five “protection” programs running were using up massive amounts of memory and CPU time.

Good luck.

Can you post the details of the email error window?

Can you tell us what you’ve seen? Non-delivery reports? Or do you actually notice Outlook connecting to your mail server?. What kind of mail server?
